KPL welcomes representatives of Talisk Offshore Wind Project and Magnora Offshore Wind
KPL Directors Alasdair Ferguson & Colin Ortlepp along with Kevin Ferguson, Operations and Project Manager welcomed a visit recently from Geir Birkeland, Project Director – Talisk Offshore Wind Project and Trond Gartner, Supply Chain and Engineering Manager, of Magnora Offshore Wind.It was great to see Geir again and as Trond hadn’t visited Kishorn Port & Dry Dock before, it was an ideal opportunity to show them both around and give them an insight into the current and future expansion development plans for the Port.

Kishorn Port exhibits at Offshore Wind Conference 2025
The KPL directors Alasdair Ferguson, Colin Ortlepp and team had a wonderful time at the Offshore Wind Conference 2025 at the SEC in Glasgow. The conference was a fantastic opportunity to share ideas, discuss successes, challenges, and lessons to investigate how we can all collaborate to support each other in the future of offshore wind. KPL accept original ships bell from Northern Producer
Alasdair Ferguson, KPL Director and Kevin Ferguson, Operations and Project Manager were delighted to accept, on behalf of KPL, the original bell from the now successfully decommissioned Northern Producer. Gordon Donald, Northern Offshore Ltd and Adam King, Liberty Industrial Ltd presented the ship’s bell, originally named “Nortroll” from 1976-1981. Alasdair commented “On behalf of the KPL Directors we are thrilled to receive the Northern Producer ship’s bell on behalf of the team. It will be a constant reminder of the decommissioning job well done by all involved. Thank you to Northern Offshore and Liberty Industrial for the very kind gesture and for the opportunity to carry out this decom project at Kishorn Port & Dry Dock.”The FTF vessel has also been called in the past “Ali Baba” (1981 – 1990), “Emerald Producer” (1990 – 1996) before taking its current name of “Northern Producer”. The ship’s bell will now spend the rest of its days, proudly displayed at Kishorn Port & Dry Dock, the final resting place of the large “Semi-submersible” Northern Producer FPF, which came into the loch back in April 2021.

Kishorn Port Directors Welcome Visitors
Kishorn Port Directors, Alasdair Ferguson, Colin Ortlepp and Carol MacKinnon welcomed David Oxley – Director, Greg Paterson – Development Manager, Large Scale Renewables Energy Transition and Eilidh Cameron, Head of Business Growth – Lochaber, Skye and Wester Ross and team from Highlands and Islands Enterprise recently for a visit.Some of the group had never visited the Port and Dry Dock before. KPL Directors are delighted to announce Kishorn Port Ltd were awarded – The Highland Business Award for Innovation.“A business that has implemented new ideas, products or processes which have contributed to its success, whether in terms of profitability, new customers and/or new markets.”Kevin Ferguson, Director of Ferguson Transport & Shipping and Operations & Projects Manager for KPL, along with Grant Milne, CEO – Leiths (Scotland) Ltd, joint venture partners, received the award on behalf of KPL.Kevin Ferguson commented when receiving the award “Thank you, on behalf of all the team on the ground and the two joint venture co-founders of KPL, Ferguson Transport & Shipping and Leiths (Scotland) Ltd, this recognition is greatly appreciated.”Kevin also gave special thanks to the Inverness Chamber of Commerce for arranging the awards ceremony and to UHI who sponsored the award.It was a lovely afternoon, spent recognising the hard work and dedication of the business community within the Highlands and Islands.
