Deep Water Mooring & Anchorage
At the mouth of Loch Kishorn, the Sound of Raasay offers up to 150 metres of water depth. Loch Kishorn offers almost unlimited draft at up to 80 metres depth in the main channel, with three existing quayside berths at 120 metres length and two at 80 metres length.
A tidal drop of 4 metres allows the maximum draft at these locations of two at 7.5 metres depth, and one at 10 metres depth. Kishorn Port also includes a 160 metre diameter dry dock, the dock gates can also be used to berth vessels up to 160 metres in length, at high water both dock gates and the internal dock can provide up to 13 metres depth at high tide.
