Dry Dock
In 2017, Kishorn Port Ltd awarded a contract to Harris Pye Ltd to ultimately pump out the dry dock, test and ascertain if the dock was operational and adequate for the purpose it was built for. Some of the works undertaken were as follows:
Strengthening the sheet pile abutments by installing new tie rods. De-ballasting the gates, testing the buoyancy and inspecting the sill and horizontal seal
Quayside Berths
The Quay provides a single continuous straight edged Quay of some 120 metres in length, running parallel to the general shoreline at approximately 260/08’ degrees true. At the western end, the Quay projects some 40 metres from the shoreline whilst at the eastern end the loch shore turns northward into the bay and estuary of the river Kishorn.
Deep Water Mooring & Anchorage
At the mouth of Loch Kishorn the Sound of Raasay offers up to 150 metres of water depth. Loch Kishorn offers almost unlimited draft at up to 80 metres depth in the main channel, with three existing quayside berths at 120 metres length and two at 80 metres length.
Quarry
Suitable for the manufacture and construction of sub-sea concrete based structures. Stone, aggregate and ballast also available for export by sea.
The quarry has 6.5 million tonnes of consented reserves. As well as producing traditional quarry materials, we also manufacture more specialised products.
