KPL hosts visit from Fatima Ferreira do Rosario, Environmental Engineer from Petrobras

KPL Head of Compliance & Safety, Steve Welham recently hosted a visit from Fatima Ferreira do Rosario, an Environmental Engineer with Petrobras, the national oil company of Brazil. 

As Petrobras is facing the challenge of decommissioning many FPSOs and semisubmersibles in the coming years, the visit was intended to provide background information on a well-established ship recycling facility with expertise and experience in this activity.

Although Petrobras are looking to implement their own ship recycling facilities, given the challenges of bureaucracy and red tape in Brazil’s legislature and thus the timelines to do so, their back-up plan is to utilise only EU Listed Ship Recycling Facilities, one of which could potentially be Kishorn Port & Dry Dock.
