Kishorn Port Expansion Underway: Cabinet Secretary Tours Site
Directors Alasdair Ferguson, Carol MacKinnon and Kevin Ferguson recently welcomed Fiona Hyslop MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, to Kishorn Port, alongside Stuart Black, CEO of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), and Alastair Nicolson, Area Manager for Lochaber, Skye and Wester Ross.
The visit included a company overview presentation, discussion on the recently commenced Phase 1a construction works, and a tour of the port site and dry dock. It provided an opportunity to highlight progress on the £42.2 million port expansion project, supported by a £24 million investment announced in June by the Deputy First Minister, Kate Forbes MSP.
The Cabinet Secretary noted the importance of Kishorn Port in supporting offshore wind development and the wider transition to net zero, while also delivering jobs and economic benefits for the Highlands and beyond.
Commenting on the visit, Managing Director Alasdair Ferguson said the investment from HIE and the Scottish Government was vital in enabling Kishorn Port to develop as a strategic hub for offshore wind, creating long-term opportunities for local communities and the wider Scottish economy.
The expansion project is being delivered by principal contractor RJ McLeod, with supporting services provided by Scottish firms Wallace Stone, Affric and Leapmoor.
