Kishorn Port has been awarded a yard stay project by Semco Maritime for Altera Infrastructure’s FPSO asset Voyageur Spirit which will be moored at the West coast Kishorn Port facility. The award was based on Semco Maritime’s extensive project management and engineering expertise in conjunction with the bespoke Kishorn Port base.
KPL have made further improvements to the facilities on site in recent weeks with the delivery of additional office blocks that include catering capacity, drying rooms and first aid facilities. KPL Director, Alasdair Ferguson comments; “The first units have started arriving on site and once installed, these facilities will add to what we can offer contractors and KPL staff at the port. We plan to include semi-permanent accommodation on site in due course to support the yards aspirations of attracting further contracts within the Energy sectors, Oil & Gas, Decommissioning and Renewables markets, as well as building on the Aquaculture […]
Last week, KPL once again attended SPE Offshore Europe in Aberdeen. It was a busy few days with many people visiting the stand enquiring about the Port & Dry Dock and its recent progress. Recently, KPL were delighted to welcome to site members of the KPL Community Liaison Group, pictured below. Since the last group meeting on site, there have been further improvements made as well as the company securing its first project – the Ocean GreatWhite’s visit at the start of this year. KPL Directors informed the committee of the most recent achievements including the recently secured Waste Management License from SEPA as well as planned works that will continue throughout 2019 and beyond.
Yesterday, Tuesday 9th April, KPL Directors Alasdair Ferguson and Simon Russell welcomed 30 students and senior academic staff from the University of Aberdeen on site at Kishorn. The students are studying towards a post graduate MSc qualification in Oil & Gas Enterprise Management, a one year full time course unique to the University. The attendees were interested in the attributes of the facilities and in particular the Dry Dock, lay-down area and the sites capacity and future plans within the Oil & Gas and Decommissioning sectors.
