KPL welcomed a visit recently from Scottish Development International (SDI) Team Leader, Simon Wallace and his Inward Investment Team. They received a tour of the Port and a visit to the Dry Dock where the “Noble Intrepid “ jack up drilling rig is in for inspection, maintenance and repair. This was followed by a boat trip around the “Northern Producer” which is sitting at anchor in Loch Kishorn, along with a good view of Kishorn Port from the seaward side.

KPL enjoyed supporting this event and hosting a table at the recent @IADC North Sea Chapter 50th Anniversary Awards in Aberdeen on Friday evening. It was a great evening, with good company and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended in the off shore drilling industry.

KPL Directors, Alasdair Ferguson and Colin Ortlepp welcomed back to the Port, one of our founder members and Director, Simon Russell. This was Simon’s first visit in over 3 years to the Port since his retirement from KPL and moving back South. It was a great opportunity for Simon to witness the continued development at the Port, since the business was founded in 2008. It has been all go over the last couple of weeks at Kishorn Port, despite the weather and the challenges it brings! Great progress has been made on all fronts with KPL and their clients in one if the most picturesque parts of the country, Wester Ross, Scotland.

KPL are delighted to welcome into Kishorn Port & Dry Dock the jack up drilling rig the “Noble Intrepid.” A fantastic job by all the team involved!! We wish the client, all the crew on board, along with visiting contractors, a great stay and warm welcome to a lovely part of the world, in Wester Ross, Scotland.

We welcomed into Kishorn Port the “Matador 3” heavy lift barge this week and assisted with her rigging set up, prior to going onto a lifting job on the West Coast. The Matador 3 is the younger sister of Matador 2 and lifts no less than 1800t.

KPL had a busy couple of days at the OEUK Decommissioning Conference and exhibition this week. With over 400 people attending the event, it ran from 21-23rd November, bringing together industry experts for presentations, networking opportunities, exhibitions, and a dinner at the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews, Fife. Thank you to the organisers and all those who visited our stand. We are already looking forward to the 2023 event!

The Voyageur Spirit is now out of the dry dock and in her new position alongside the piled quay at Kishorn Port. The gate is back in and pumping out of the dock will start any time soon!
