Highland Road Salt
Highland road salt is brought in via Kishorn Port and Dry Dock.
In 2011, Ferguson Transport & Shipping, one of KPL’s partners, secured an agreement with Highland Council to berth, discharge and transport all the road salt required locally in the area through Kishorn Port to the local depots in and around Wester Ross for use during the winter months.
The salt was brought in by vessels and discharged in a matter of hours by the on-site port dock handling equipment and then delivered to local stockpiles.
