KPL accept original ships bell from Northern Producer
Alasdair Ferguson, KPL Director and Kevin Ferguson, Operations and Project Manager were delighted to accept, on behalf of KPL, the original bell from the now successfully decommissioned Northern Producer.
Gordon Donald, Northern Offshore Ltd and Adam King, Liberty Industrial Ltd presented the ship’s bell, originally named “Nortroll” from 1976-1981.
Alasdair commented “On behalf of the KPL Directors we are thrilled to receive the Northern Producer ship’s bell on behalf of the team. It will be a constant reminder of the decommissioning job well done by all involved. Thank you to Northern Offshore and Liberty Industrial for the very kind gesture and for the opportunity to carry out this decom project at Kishorn Port & Dry Dock.”
The FTF vessel has also been called in the past “Ali Baba” (1981 – 1990), “Emerald Producer” (1990 – 1996) before taking its current name of “Northern Producer”.
The ship’s bell will now spend the rest of its days, proudly displayed at Kishorn Port & Dry Dock, the final resting place of the large “Semi-submersible” Northern Producer FPF, which came into the loch back in April 2021.
