Kishorn Port Ltd welcomes HIE Executive Board and Scottish Government Officials
KPL Directors were delighted to host a visit from the Highlands and Islands Enterprise Executive Board and Scottish Government officials recently.
This visit was well received and much appreciated by the Directors of KPL. It was a privilege to host the HIE Board along with members of Scottish Government to the port and was an opportunity to be able to show them around the Kishorn Port & Dry Dock facilities.
The morning started with a welcome and introductions by KPL, Director, Alasdair Ferguson, followed up by a company presentation and overview from KPL, Director, Colin Ortlepp, highlighting the evolution and story of the yard so far, the planned further investments, and the expansion at the port. This will enhance the offering to the decom and offshore floating wind market, for larger projects by expanding the back of the dry dock and reclaiming land for additional lay down. The exciting future expansion plans at Kishorn Port and Dry Dock, including the potential role it can play in the manufacturing of concrete floating sub-structures, for the offshore floating wind market in particular, were all presented. Which will also include, extra lay down, marshalling, assembly and load out, and where required wet storage. At the West Coast of Scotland deep water Energy Port, there is the opportunity to supply to the ScotWind projects, along with the potential for supplying to the Irish Sea and as far south as the Celtic sea.
