KPL welcomes representatives of Talisk Offshore Wind Project and Magnora Offshore Wind
KPL Directors Alasdair Ferguson & Colin Ortlepp along with Kevin Ferguson, Operations and Project Manager welcomed a visit recently from Geir Birkeland, Project Director – Talisk Offshore Wind Project and Trond Gartner, Supply Chain and Engineering Manager, of Magnora Offshore Wind.It was great to see Geir again and as Trond hadn’t visited Kishorn Port & Dry Dock before, it was an ideal opportunity to show them both around and give them an insight into the current and future expansion development plans for the Port.

Kishorn Port exhibits at Offshore Wind Conference 2025
The KPL directors Alasdair Ferguson, Colin Ortlepp and team had a wonderful time at the Offshore Wind Conference 2025 at the SEC in Glasgow. The conference was a fantastic opportunity to share ideas, discuss successes, challenges, and lessons to investigate how we can all collaborate to support each other in the future of offshore wind. Offshore Wind Policy Round Table event in Dublin
KPL Director, Alasdair Ferguson, welcomed the opportunity to join Minister for Climate Action, Gillian Martin and Michelle Quinn, Director of Offshore Wind, along with other Scottish Government colleagues and industry experts from the supply chain and offshore wind developers engaged with ScotWind projects. The sessions took place in Dublin this week, bringing together Irish Ministers and guests at Advanced Offshore Wind Energy Ireland on a learning journey for offshore wind and to forge relationships between Ireland and Scotland for the sector.Opening talks started with a welcome from Peter Burke, Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, followed by setting the scene from a Scotland’s perspective, from Minister, Gillian Martin.

Scottish Renewables Supply Chain & Logistics Conference 2024
Alasdair Ferguson, KPL Director attended the Scottish Renewables Supply Chain & Logistics Conference in Dundee earlier this week. Alasdair had a great session presenting during “Ports by Numbers”. It was the ideal opportunity to show case Kishorn Port and Dry Dock and KPL’s vision for the future and development plans to expand into the market to potentially support the manufacture of Floating Offshore Wind concrete substructures. Alasdair was also able to enjoy the rest of the speaker sessions and network with likeminded individuals from the renewable energy sector.

Decom Week 2024
Directors Alasdair Ferguson and Colin Ortlepp were delighted to be nominated for the Sustainability award at Decom week 2024 recently. We would like to extend our congratulations to all those who won this year:- Innovation in Decommissioning Award: Utility ROV Services Ltd Emerging Professional in Decommissioning Award: Chloe Grigor of DeepOcean Sustainability Award: AF Offshore Decom The Decom Mission Member Award: Thompsons of Prudhoe Emeritus Award for Outstanding Contribution: Roy Aspden The KPL team, had a busy and productive few days networking and catching up with friends, suppliers, and customers. It was great to see everyone who stopped by our stand to discuss current and future projects at Kishorn Port and the future of decommissioning.

IADC North Sea Chapter Safety Awards
The IADC North Sea Chapter Safety Awards were held recently in Aberdeen and KPL were delighted, as associate members, to continue to support the event again this year. It was a great evening, with good company and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended in the offshore drilling industry.

Capital Investment Team at Scottish Development visit Kishorn Port Ltd
KPL Directors, Alasdair Ferguson, Carol MacKinnon and Colin Ortlepp welcomed Cameron Douglas, Green Energy Specialist and Louise Innes, Project Manager from the Capital Investment Team at Scottish Development International to Kishorn Port recently. It was a great visit showing them both the exciting development plans and then a tour of the site and dry dock.
Kishorn Port Ltd welcome British Ports Association representative
We welcomed the recent visit of the chair of Scottish Ports Group, British Ports Association, Stuart Cresswell to Kishorn Port and Dry Dock. It was a great opportunity, as members of the BPA, to show Stuart round, do a tour, and present our ambitious port expansion plans for the future in the port’s aspirations to play its part in Energy Transition and journey to net Zero, through the Oil and Gas sector, decommissioning, offshore floating wind and our support for the Aquaculture sector.The weather was on our side and it was a great visit with very engaging discussions. Thank you to Stuart for taking the time to visit.
