A busy couple of days at Kishorn Port & Dry Dock and some lovely vessels in to match the great weather we have been experiencing on the West Coast of Scotland.
We recently arranged for Crews and Managers from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to attend Kishorn Port for a full tour and operational familiarisation on the site, visiting the KPL welfare area, Ferguson Transport Kishorn Port Area Seven, the Dry Dock and also include a tour of the operational desks of the Noble Intrepid rig currently in the dry dock. Crews from Lochcarron, Glenelg and Applecross attended on day 1 along with Senior Managers from Kyle and Inverness. This was followed by Crews from Kyle, Torridon and Kinlochewe on day 2.
Kishorn Port Director, Colin Ortlepp and Frank Davison, Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality attended Decom Mission’s (previously Demon North Sea) week 2023 recently. The event brought together exhibitors and delegates from across the spectrum of decommissioning. It included speakers from oil and gas, nuclear and offshore wind energy sectors as well as worldwide decommissioning.
Kishorn Port Ltd were delighted to be exhibit and attend All-Energy exhibition and conference at the SEC in Glasgow recently. It was a busy few days with many people stopping by the stand to ask questions about the Port and Dry Dock, and there were lots of interesting conversations regarding the history, recent events and future plans.
We recently welcomed to our Stakeholder Learning Journey to Kishorn Port and Dry Dock, Developers, Scottish Government, regulators, local enterprise, key supply chain and distinguished guests along with KPL Directors and key staff. Here are some photos of this fantastic two day event where there was good networking, sharing of experiences, challenges to date and planning for the future.
KPL Directors Alasdair Ferguson and Colin Ortlepp welcomed a visit from Ian Blackford, MP for Ross, Skye and Lochaber along with Raymond Bremner, Head of Highland Council and Stuart Macpherson, Head of Strategic Projects – HIE, to Kishorn Port and Dry Dock. Mr Blackford commented “I was extremely impressed by how much the facilities at Kishorn have been developed since my last visit. The potential is enormous for further growth at the site. “I believe Kishorn has an important role to play in Scotland’s Green Industrial Revolution and in creating sustainable employment for generations to come.”
KPL Directors welcomed a visit from Joanie Whiteford, Lord-Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty (incorporating Skye and Lochalsh) along with Andrew Townsend and other members of the Community Council including its Chair Person Helen Murchison to Kishorn Port and Dry Dock. Joanie commented “The introductory slides gave us a good background to the different projects being carried out, but nothing prepared us for the size of the yard and its potential. The trip down into the dry dock, and standing so close to the jack-up rig was absolutely incredible, no slides could have prepared us for their sheer scale.” It was […]
KPL welcomed a visit recently from Scottish Development International (SDI) Team Leader, Simon Wallace and his Inward Investment Team. They received a tour of the Port and a visit to the Dry Dock where the “Noble Intrepid “ jack up drilling rig is in for inspection, maintenance and repair. This was followed by a boat trip around the “Northern Producer” which is sitting at anchor in Loch Kishorn, along with a good view of Kishorn Port from the seaward side.
KPL enjoyed supporting this event and hosting a table at the recent @IADC North Sea Chapter 50th Anniversary Awards in Aberdeen on Friday evening. It was a great evening, with good company and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended in the off shore drilling industry.
