Alasdair Ferguson, Managing Director, KPL was hugely privileged to have been invited to speak at the Energy Diplomacy Club event at Scotland House London recently, along with Michelle Quinn – Director for Offshore Wind, Scottish Government. The Energy Diplomacy Club is an unofficial, informal group run by DESNZ and brings together Embassy representatives in London from around the globe with an energy-focus, along with UK Government departments with an interest in the UK energy agenda. We were excited to attend the Offshore Wind Conference 2026 in Glasgow, organised by Scottish Renewables. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leaders, partners, and innovators from across the offshore wind sector. We had a good couple of days getting involved in conversations about the future of offshore wind. It was a very successful couple of days spent networking and having conversations about the Offshore Wind sector. A big thank you to Scottish Renewables for organising the event.  

What began six months ago is now taking shape. This progress film charts the journey from early site conditions through to large scale rock blasting, time-lapse footage of the dry dock expansion and foreshore reclamation, finishing off with detailed shots of the latest rock armour works. A powerful snapshot of progress, and a glimpse of what’s still to come.  

KPL Managing Director Alasdair Ferguson welcomed Alan Webster, Head of Economic and Regeneration at Highland Council, and Grant Campbell, Economic Development Manager at Highland Council, to Kishorn Port. The visitors toured the port and saw first-hand the progress on Phase 1a construction works, including the extension of the dry dock and reclamation area. The visit also included an overview of developments in and around the port, along with discussions on ‘The Invest Highland Prospectus’, and its positive plans for infrastructure and housing in the area. With pleasant weather, the visit was deemed highly worthwhile and constructive by all.  

We are proud to see our port featured in this recent video from Mineral Products Association, on the UK’s growing floating offshore wind sector. We’re making significant investments in our port and expanding our port & dry dock facilities to support the large-scale fabrication and assembly of concrete floating bases. Combined with our strong sheltered deep-water sea links, we can provide efficient, lower-carbon logistics for materials and components across the supply chain. We were delighted to welcome attendees from the NGO Shipbreaking Platform to Kishorn Port & Dry Dock as part of their Safe, Health and Environmental Ship Recycling (SHEREC) workshop visit on 12–14 November 2025. The workshop focused on exploring circularity, new technologies, AI-based solutions, material passports, and how the UK can build more capacity for safe, compliant ship recycling. During their time at Kishorn, we presented our ongoing site expansion, highlighted our unique deep-sea access, and discussed the important role fully licensed UK-based facilities can play in managing future recycling projects responsibly. The OEUK Offshore Decommissioning Conference 2025 has now concluded, and the KPL team had a highly successful and engaging two days at the event. The conference provided a great opportunity to network, reconnect with familiar faces, and build new relationships while discussing the latest developments across the decommissioning sector.
