KPL Director Carol MacKinnon and our Port General Manager, Mike Bauermeister hosted a visit from Mike Spain, Director – Marine and Tom Inglis, Head of Aquaculture from Crown Estate Scotland earlier this week. Today, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal was welcomed to the major expansion project at Kishorn Port. The Royal visitor met staff and contractors during a tour of the west coast site, which is one of Scotland’s most strategically important deep water energy industry facilities. Kishorn boasts one of Europe’s largest dry docks, which was officially opened by The Princess Royal’s brother, King Charles III, 50 years ago this year. They were given a tour of the site to see firsthand the progress with the phase 1a construction at the Port

KPL were proud to attend as an affiliated member and to sponsor ‘The Welcome Piper’ again for 2026 at Friday evening’s International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) North Sea Chapter Annual Safety Awards in Aberdeen. Our team had a very enjoyable time at the dinner, discussing and celebrating the offshore drilling industry and the part we play. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners of the evening. This is a fantastic achievement to be proud of.

The Energy Diplomacy Club is an unofficial, informal group run by DESNZ and brings together Embassy representatives in London from around the globe with an energy-focus, along with UK Government departments with an interest in the UK energy agenda.
